Born and raised poor in Kenosha, WI, his drug addiction, and party lifestyle caused him to leave his family and friends and head to Dallas, TX, where he had an encounter with the living God while freebasing cocaine in the back of a van. Pastor Leon had dreams that did not include the poor and the lost. After he surrendered his life to Christ in 1994, he heard, and was obedient to the voice of God which led him to ministry of the most vulnerable on the streets of Dallas Texas.

I lived most of my childhood years in the small farming community of Lamoni, Iowa. At the age of fourteen the Lord revealed Himself to me and despite several years of "sowing my oats" He never forsaken me. In the late 80's I rededicated my life to Christ and I've never looked back. In 1987 I started a 31 year career with Interstate Batteries of America as a Regional Marketing Manager working with operations all over the United States and Canada. In 1999 I made my first volunteer visit at S.O.U.L. Church and have been a steady attender ever since. I also hold a director's position with the "Project Ten Nineteen" (Luke 10:19) deliverance ministry.
