In a world that often measures the strength of a church by the height of its steeple or the padding on its pews, there is a community in the heart of Dallas redefining what it means to "Go to Church."

At SOUL Church (Servants Of oUr Lord), the mission is simple but profound. Since 1995, Pastor Leon Birdd and a dedicated team of volunteers have been proving that the Gospel doesn’t need a building to change a life. Every Sunday, rain or shine, a miracle of community and compassion unfolds in an open field across from Fair Park.

A Church Without Walls
We often say, "A Church without walls," and at SOUL, we mean it literally. We have no roof. We have no brick and mortar. But under His wings, we have refuge.

Every Sunday morning, our mobile ministry transforms an empty field into a sanctuary. We bring the trucks, the generators, the sound stage, and the tents to create a space where everyone—from the "haves" to the "have-nots"—is welcome. It is a place where chains are broken, hearts are healed, and the homeless community of Dallas finds a family.

More Than Just a Meal
Our mission is to feed the mind, body, and spirit. While we are known for the thousands of pounds of food distributed through our Shared Food Ministry, the Sunday experience is about the warmth of human connection.

When you visit, you’ll find more than just a service; you’ll find a celebration. We believe in meeting people right where they are with tangible expressions of love. That might look like a hot meal, a fresh haircut, or even a moment of joy shared over coffee and ice cream. These simple comforts serve as a bridge, opening doors for deeper relationships and spiritual transformation.
